Surface-Mount VCOs Tune To 26.8 GHz
Nov 25, 2008 3:09 PM

Hittite Microwave has introduced a pair of MMIC-based surface-mount voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) with tuning capabilities to 26.8 GHz. Model HMC738LP4(E) provides +9 dBm output power from 20.9 to 23.9 GHz as a result of tuning voltages from 1 to 13 V. It features low phase noise of -95 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier. Model HMC739LP4(E) offers +8 dBm output power from 23.8 to 26.8 GHz as a result of tuning voltages from 1 to 13 V. It exhibits phase noise of -93 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier. The oscillators consume only 200 and 192 mA of current, respectively, from a single +5-VDC supply. Both VCOs are housed in RoHS-compliant leadless QFN housings.
