Synthesizer Generates Outputs To 4.35 GHz Nov 6, 2008 5:26 PM
Model ADF4350 is a wideband frequency synthesizer with integrated voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) for generating output frequencies from 135 MHz to 4.35 GHz. The architecture combines a fractional-N synthesizer with an integer-N synthesizer, with programmable divide-by-1/2/3/8/16 outputs. It operates on voltage supplies of +3.0 to +3.6 VDC and is controlled with a simple three-wire serial interface. The synthesizer accepts input signals from 10 to 250 MHz and delivers outputs to 4.35 GHz with as much as +3 dBm output power and typical output-power variations with frequency of ±1 dB. The VCO phase noise performance is typically -89 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from a 2.2-GHz carrier and -134 dBc/Hz offset 1 MHz from a 3.3-GHz carrier. The synthesizer, which provides 1.8-V logic compatibility, features typical root-mean-square (RMS) jitter of only 0.5 ps. Analog Devices (www.analog.com)
