Patent issued for multi-carrier communication Mar 22, 2007 3:00 PM
The U.S. Patent and Trademarks Office (USPTO) has issued U.S. Patent No. 7,164,669, entitled "Multi-carrier communication with time division multiplexing and carrier-selective loading,” to ADAPTIX, a developer of OFDMA and Mobile WiMAX technologies. Following the initial filing in 2002, U.S. Patent No. 7,164,669 was issued on Jan. 16, 2007 and describes a method for subcarrier allocation and loading for a multi-carrier, multi-subscriber system. The issuance of this patent is significant to the industry in that it provides methods for implementing multi-user Quality of Service (QoS) over OFDMA using information such as transmission rates, signal and noise conditions and traffic loading. Copies of the ADAPTIX U.S. Patent No. 7,164,669 may be obtained via the USPTO website.
