Wi-Fi array provides real-time load balancing

Xirrus has announced that tests conducted by The Tolly Group confirm the Xirrus’ Wi-Fi Array provides advanced real-time load balancing by distributing client devices across all 16 802.11a/b/g radios of a Wi-Fi Array. The Wi-Fi Arrays track real-world link conditions for each station on every channel and radio, and automatically move stations between radios to improve throughput for all users on the wireless network.

Engineers deployed a single Xirrus XS-3900 Wi-Fi Array to evaluate its advanced wireless load-balancing feature and the benefits it provides a typical corporate network. Xirrus commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate the wireless load-balancing features of its IEEE 802.11a/b/g XS-3900 family of Wi-Fi Arrays. Test highlights concluded that Xirrus’ solution:

  • Supports wireless load balancing for all 16 802.11a/b/g radios on a single Wi-Fi Array
  • Provides dynamic load balancing for 802.11 clients
  • Supports up to 1,024 simultaneous wireless users with a single XS-3900 Wi-Fi Array
  • Bolsters 802.11b/g capacity by moving 802.11b/g stations to 802.11a when possible
  • Improves performance across the entire wireless network
