MetaGeek’s Wi-Spy 2.4x is its second-generation Wi-Spy product with three times the frequency resolution, three times the amplitude resolution, and twice the amplitude range of the original Wi-Spy. With the higher resolution and improved amplitude range, the unit more easily identifies wireless signals that could be causing interference with Wi-Fi networks.

Technical specifications include: an RP-SMA external antenna, a frequency range of 2400 MHz to 2495 MHz, a frequency resolution of 328 kHz, and a sweep time of approximately 165 ms. The amplitude range is -110 dBm to -6.5 dBm, with a resolution of 0.5 dBm. The device is also USB 1.1/2.0-compatible. Pricing is $399. Chanalyzer 2.1 software, which supports the unit, is available as a free download.
