Pre-certified IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee-compliant USB dongle developers kit Sep 26, 2006 12:47 PM
Based on IAI's CompXs Technology, Integration Associates (IAI) has announced its pre-certified USB dongle developers kit designed to shorten the time to market for designers building 802.15.4/ZigBee products. The dongle development kit (IA DAUB-DK1 2400) comprises two IEEE 802.15.4 2.4 GHz radios with USB interfaces for connection to PC or embedded platforms. The dongle, when used in conjunction with the supplied certified ZigBee stack dll, is the newest addition to Integration's range of ZigBee-compliant platform and is the ideal platform of choice for developing ZigBee network capable and ZigBee logo products. The dongles can be used as full members of any IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee network or as test/commissioning tools to assist in the creation and debugging of new IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee products or networks. In addition to the two dongles that are supplied with the kit is a CDROM containing source code for a number of basic projects including examples of an instant messenger application operating between the two (or more) dongles, and a fully compliant ZigBee lighting controller. The ZigBee dongle kits are available as part of the development systems from many vendors in the ZigBee Alliance, directly through Integration or from Nu Horizons. The kits retail for $149.
