Wavion and Emperion of Lagos, Nigeria announced the deployment of Wavion WBS-2400 base stations throughout Nigeria. The WBS-2400 base station will deliver high-speed Internet access (Wi-Fi) to large and small towns, as well as rural villages in Nigeria.

“After careful selection process, we have chosen Wavion’s WBS-2400 base stations for our nationwide deployment in Nigeria,” said Sandeep Jayaswal, Emperion’s Managing Director. “This is the first nationwide deployment in Nigeria targeting Internet services under one umbrella. Emperion Franchise, through its Hot Zones program, aims to provide low cost, quality Internet services working with local partners all over the country. This franchise program is a revolutionary concept that will make Internet available to the Nigerian public all over the country.”

Wavion’s powerful WBS-2400 spatially adaptive, beam-forming base stations provide extended range and throughput and enables high-quality Wi-Fi connectivity to standard clients such as those embedded in laptops and other computers. Wavion’s Wi-Fi base station triples the coverage and doubles the capacity in comparison to standard Access Points (APs).

“We’re proud to be selected by Emperion for their pioneering deployment in Nigeria and are excited to be a part of their vision and help make it a reality,” said Eran Kaplan Wavion’s EVP of Sales and Marketing. ”Our superior performance in terms of range and throughput creates a unique value proposition for wide-area coverage for both urban and rural deployments.”
