UDCast, Xpertia create learning environment for mobile TV Mar 6, 2008 11:56 AM
Wireless IP broadcast solutions provider UDcast and Spain’s Xpertia Soluciones Integrales have teamed to create an environment to improve and strengthen DVB-H implementation and study IP generation within DVB-H standards. As a result, UDcast's DVB-H head-end will be integrated into Xpertia's LabMU (Multi-user Digital TV Laboratory) to create this digital TV laboratory. UDcast's DVB-H head-end is at the center of the end-to-end solution that enables the delivery of mobile TV over DVB-H networks. Its DVB-H standard compliant IP Encapsulator (IPE-10) enables the encapsulation of video and audio sources and its multicasting over the DVB-H network to handheld devices. The IPE-10 is the interface between the digital video sources and the mobile TV broadcasting network. Xpertia's LabMU is a complete multi-user digital TV laboratory for educational and pre-production purposes for universities and research institutions that enables students and researchers to design and create a complete digital TV Tx/Rx chain for multi-user environments. LabMU has already been successfully deployed in Spain and is currently in deployment throughout Europe. "Our collaboration with UDcast represents the opportunity to complete our product (LabMU) with additional modules in sync with the latest technologies" said Luis Rodríguez, Xpertia’s managing director. "Thanks to the performance of UDcast IP Encapsulator, LabMU's capabilities and features will increase, maintaining the multi-user and accessible nature of the product." "Teaching and researching of advanced technologies as the DVB-H Mobile TV require both field proven tools equipped with the latest innovations and user friendly configuration interfaces." said Roland Schaller, vice president, product management, UDcast. "UDcast is delighted to support Xpertia Soluciones Integrales in their commitment to provide universities and laboratories with efficient and up-to-date educational systems such as LabMU." www.xpertiasi.com
