Miniature 15 MBd CMOS optocoupler delivers performance to 100°C Mar 3, 2005 2:30 PM
California Eastern Laboratories (CEL) has added a new 15 MBd device to its growing family of NEC SO-8 optocouplers. The PS9851 is available as a single or dual-channel device and is suitable for use in multiplexed data transmission and digital field bus isolation applications. With typical pulse-width distortion (PWD) of 5 ns, it can achieve maximum serial data rates. Plus, with performance guaranteed to 100°C, it's especially well-suited for industrial power supply and motor control applications in demanding thermal environments. In addition, the PS9851 delivers high common mode transient immunity, low power consumption, and 2500 Vrms isolation. The PS9851 is a digital CMOS output optocoupler, so it integrates easily into CMOS circuits. Both the single and dual-channel versions are available in an SO-8 package. Suitable for engineers faced with the task of miniaturizing their designs, these SO-8 optocouplers offer a solution that's 40 percent smaller than two single-channel devices. Lead-free versions are available at no additional cost.
